Nā Pali in Winter: A Different Kind of Magic
October-December
In past years we’ve dry-docked through the winter months, but this year we’ll be monitoring conditions and offering 3-hour sightseeing tours when the ocean cooperates. Because winter tours are more weather-dependent, we recommend booking early in your stay so we have room to rebook if needed.
Choose your Departure Time
Morning Magic
- First on the water while the rest of the island is still waking up
- Often the calmest conditions of the day
- Back on land with your whole afternoon free
Afternoon Amazement
- Perfect for thrill-seekers, late risers or those traveling from the South or West shore
- Dramatic light that makes for unforgettable photos
- Usually less crowded
Both tours follow the same format: sightseeing, sea caves, and wildlife viewing, when conditions permit.
-
We launch from Hanalei Bay — just 15 minutes from the Nā Pali Coast, which means more time exploring and less time in transit. Tours departing from the South or West Shore spend 2+ hours round-trip just getting there, and only see a portion of the coastline. If you’re staying on the North Shore, even better — no 90-minute, cross-island drive required!
-
-
- Quick, direct access to the Nā Pali Coast from Hanalei Bay
- Only Hanalei vessel with shaded seating and an onboard restroom
- Wildlife encounters: dolphins, sea turtles, monk seals, rays, goats and seasonal whales
- Cold drinks and snacks
Important note: This is a sightseeing-only tour. Winter conditions are unpredictable, so we leave snorkeling and lunch off the agenda to keep focus on safety and the experience itself.
-
-
- Snacks and cold beverages
- Dry bag for personal items
- Guided tour of the Nā Pali Coast with local history and cultural insights
- Photo opportunities
- Entrance to sea caves (weather dependent)
- Wildlife encounters: dolphins, sea turtles, monk seals, rays, goats, seasonal whales
- Shaded seating and onboard restroom
- Free parking at our office
-
- Reef-safe sunscreen
- Water-friendly footwear
- Light jacket or coverup
- Camera
- Sunglasses
Note: Even though this is a non-snorkeling tour, you’ll wade through ankle- to waist-deep water — yes, really! — to board the boat, so wear clothes and shoes that can get wet. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!
